Aussie Hay Runners are providing more relief to farmers in the Clarence Valley LGA, in response to requests for assistance from those still struggling after flooding events.
A total of 54 trucks are travelling to Grafton in two runs, transporting 1,728 bales of donated hay valued at $164,160.
With support from the NSW Rural Assistance Authority, Scott Stevens and the Heyfield Lions Club, Linda Widdup and her small team of volunteers and AHR’s large team of drivers have been busy getting prepared and collecting hay donations from all over Victoria.
Some 24 trucks already headed to Grafton last Friday, August 30, while the remaining 30 trucks will convoy there on Saturday September 21.
These remaining trucks will travel to their meet up in Marulan on Friday September 20, with the convoy setting off the following morning via the Hume Highway.
They will travel through Sydney via the M7 and M2 around 9.30am, on to the M1 with a rest stop at Bulahdelah around midday, before continuing via the M1, arriving in Grafton by late afternoon.
These bales will directly help farmers affected by flooding.
Some hay has already been allocated, however if you need assistance and have not already reached out to the team, you can contact their on-ground coordinator Sally Power on 0419 403 469.
