Truckies can expect changed overnight traffic conditions next week at Tuggerah, NSW, to carry out essential maintenance work on the southbound ramp at Wyong Road.
Transport for NSW (TfNSW) said the southbound on-ramp from Wyong Road to the M1 and the southbound off-ramp from the M1 to Wyong Road will be closed at night while asphalt resurfacing is carried out.
To minimise the impact to drivers, the on-ramp to the M1 will be closed from 8pm, Monday, June 23, to 4am the next morning.
The off-ramp from the M1 will be closed from 8pm to 4am on the nights of Sunday, June 29, and Monday, June 30, reopening 4am Tuesday, June 31, weather permitting.
Detours for truckies at Tuggerah. Image: TfNSWWhen the on-ramp is closed, TfNSW said operators of B-doubles and oversize and/or overmass (OSOM) vehicles should travel north on the Pacific Highway to Sparks Road and access the M1 via the Warnervale Interchange.
Motorists wanting to travel south on the M1 from Wyong Road should use the Pacific Highway via Kangy Angy and join the M1 at Ourimbah Interchange.
When the off-ramp is closed, TfNSW said all southbound drivers on the M1, including operators of B-doubles and OSOM vehicles, should continue to Ourimbah Interchange, then exit and re-enter the M1 via the Pacific Highway and travel back to Wyong Road.
Emergency services will be allowed through the ramp closures, but there could be short delays.
Traffic control and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h will be in place near the work site for the safety of workers and motorists.
