Collins truckie recovering at home after servo rollover

The Collins Transport truckie involved in a rollover at the Sutton Forest service station off the Hume Highway, NSW, on Friday is now recovering at home.

Collins confirmed in a media statement today that the highly-experienced 51-year-old driver had suffered a medical episode around 8.40am while heading south on the Hume on October 11 before coming to rest just metres from the servo bowsers.

The truckie was taken to hospital with minor injuries. No one else was injured.

The service station remained closed for some time, while fire crews removed the contents and fuel from the B-double.

“The Collins driver who rolled over at Sutton Forest  deserves a medal for putting his life before others and deliberately rolling his jigger so as not to hit that servo full on – saved many lives,” wrote Wall of Fame truckie Jerry Brown-Sarre in an email to Big Rigs.
