Consultation underway for proposed Logan Motorway upgrades

With plans in the pipeline to upgrade a 10-kilometre stretch of the Logan Motorway, the Queensland Trucking Association (QTA) says it will be holding an industry consultation session with Transurban to ensure the upgrade is designed with trucks in mind.

Transurban is partnering with the Queensland Government to develop plans to upgrade approximately 10km of the western section of the Logan Motorway, between Formation Street and the Mount Lindesay Highway.

It’s hoped that these upgrades would remove up to an estimated 6100 trucks and cars from local roads each day, and reduce travel times by up to 20 minutes during peak periods by 2031.

The project was officially announced in July 2024, with community engagement taking place until December.

The proposed project involves adding an additional lane in each direction between the Centenary Motorway and the Mount Lindesay Highway, upgrades to key motorway interchanges including Formation Street, and the installation of smart motorway technology.

A reference design is expected to be released by mid-2025, however construction is not expected to start until late 2027, with completion anticipated for 2032.

The QTA will hold the industry consultation session at its offices on Wednesday November 6, from 10.30am-12pm. For those wanting to attend, please register your interest by emailing Ebony at ebony@qta.com.au.
