CRL Express takes delivery of Krueger PBS B-doubles

Transport and logistics provider, CRL Express, has just deployed two new Performance-Based Standards (PBS) B-double drop deck Kurtainer combinations from Krueger.

The high cube combinations will allow CRL Express to fit up to 82 pallets per load, increasing capacity while reducing the number vehicles on the road.

“We can now cater for over 80 pallets each trip,” CRL Express founder and Managing Director, Roy Kazamias, told Trailer.

“This improves transit times for customers and reduces emissions as we now have less equipment on the road.”

Operating under Concessional Mass Limits (CML), the B-doubles feature a Gross Combination Mass (GCM) of 65 tonnes and a payload of 36.5 tonnes.

Standard specs include additional mezzanine floors for extra capacity, half buckles, Right Weigh digital weight scales and BPW Transpec axles and suspension.

“We are putting them on the Melbourne to Sydney leg for now, and possibly Melbourne to Brisbane as well,” Kazamias said.

“They’ll be used on a large scale for linehaul and other sorts of tasks between our depots.”

Although the units are brand-new, Kazamias is confident that they will deliver based on previous Krueger applications in the fleet.

“Krueger’s reliability has been present from the beginning,” he said.

“We’ve always had minimum repairs and that allows us be more reliable with our service to our customers.”
