Port operator, DP World Australia, has responded to a cybersecurity incident.
The company ceased its internet connectivity on Friday November 10 to stop unauthorised access to its network.
Key systems which underpin Australian port operations are reported to be not functioning normally as a result.
“This was necessary to contain the incident and minimise the impact on their employees, customers, suppliers and other stakeholders,” DP World Australia said in a statement.
The company is collaborating closely with government and private sector stakeholders to ensure that sensitive inbound freight can be prioritised and retrieved.
