From Monday, February 20, changed traffic conditions will be in place on the M1 Pacific Motorway between the Hunter Expressway and John Renshaw Drive intersection.
The freight branch at Transport for NSW says maintenance work will be carried out between 7:30pm and 4:30am until Thursday, February 23 (weather permitting).
The resulting detours are expected to add around 10km to journeys, which is about 10 to 15 minutes travel time.
As a wet weather contingency option, closure may also be required between 7:30pm and 4.30am on Monday, February 27 and Tuesday, February 28.
February 20-21 – Southbound carriageway
The southbound carriageway of the M1 will be closed to traffic over two nights between 7.30pm and 4.30am.
A detour will be in place for all southbound motorists via John Renshaw Drive and the Hunter Expressway, as shown in the enclosed map.
The detour is expected to add around 10 kilometres to journeys, which is about 10 to 15 minutes travel time.
The northbound carriageway will remain open.
February 22-23 – Northbound carriageway
The northbound carriageway of the M1 will be closed over two nights to traffic between 7.30pm and 4.30am.
A detour will be in place for all northbound motorists via the Hunter Expressway and John Renshaw Drive, as shown in the enclosed map.
The detour is expected to add around 10 kilometres to journeys, which is about 10 to 15 minutes travel time.
The southbound carriageway will remain open.
