The Department of Transport and Main Roads in Queensland has warned truckies that a reduced speed limit and single lane operation will be in place this week at the Warrigal Creek Bridge on the Flinders Highway.
From 6am to 6pm on Tuesday June 4, Wednesday June 5 and Thursday June 6, drivers should expect single-lane contraflow and speed reductions from 100km/hr to 40km/hr.
TMR Queensland has said “short delays” are expected during work hours.
The changed conditions are to facilitate monitoring and inspection works on the bridge, which is approximately 125km west of Charters Towers.
Traffic control and advanced warning traffic signals will be in place, notifying road users of the changes.
“The temporary road conditions will ensure the safety of motorists while moitoring and inspection works are undertaken on the bridge,” a spokesperson for TMR Queensland added.
All works are subject to weather conditions, contractor availability and construction progress, and the timings may change.
