Diamond Bros CEO announces retirement

Diamond Bros. CEO, Kym McDermid, will be retiring from his role on 30 April 2025.

McDermid’s vision, dedication and strategic leadership have played a critical role in establishing Diamond Bros. as one of Australia’s premier transport and logistics providers.

According to the company, his commitment to operational excellence and customer service has been instrumental in shaping its success.

“Beyond his contributions to Diamond Bros., Kym has made a lasting impact on the transport industry through his service as a Board Member and Public Officer of the South Australian Road Transport Association (SARTA) for the past eight years,” said Diamond Bros.

“His advocacy and leadership have helped drive industry-wide improvements and best practices.

“We sincerely thank Kym for his invaluable contributions and wish him the very best in his well-earned retirement.”

The business has since announced that COO, Hector Balestri, will step into the role of CEO from 1 May.

Balestri brings extensive experience in logistics, supply chain management and operational leadership, having held key roles at Diamond Bros., Edwards Lifesciences, Bega Cheese Limited and CHEP Australia.

“His expertise and passion for innovation will ensure that Diamond Bros. continues to thrive and lead the industry into the future,” the company said.

“As we transition into this new chapter, Diamond Bros. remains committed to delivering the highest standards of service.”
