In a written statement released today, Ron Finemore Transport said: “We are aware of the incident involving one of our trucks and driver over the weekend.

“We are disappointed and have commenced a full investigation over the weekend and today to try and identify what happened and why including interviewing the driver and fully reviewing the maintenance history of the equipment.

“The company has strong values around safety and effectively managing risk.

“We are disappointed that the incident has occurred and thankful that we are not aware of any injuries as a result.”

Truckie Mike Williams, host of the On The Road Podcast and a regular Big Rigs contributor, says the most disappointing thing for him about the alleged incident is that the driver appeared to not care about it until he realised he was being filmed.

“More disturbing is that while Finemore will probably give this bloke the opportunity to work somewhere else, that’s exactly what he’ll do,” said Williams.

“The attitude problem that lead to this issue won’t be solved, only moved on.”
