Hume Highway speed camera update

A new red light speed camera will soon be operational at the intersection of Hume Highway and Cutler Road.

Coming shortly after National Road Safety Week, the camera will be installed to monitor north-east bound traffic as part of the Saving Lives Accelerated Program.

Earlier this week, ahead of their driver fatigue operation, National Heavy Vehicle Regulator COO, Paul Salvati, commented on the 35 lives already lost this year in crashes involving a heavy vehicle across Australia saying that one life lost on our roads is already one too many.

The installation of the camera, according to Transport for NSW, will take place over the course of 10 days – 7am to 5pm and 8pm to 5am, excluding Saturdays, between 26 May and 26 June.

In other news, the Federal Government has allocated a significant share of infrastructure spend to Victoria.
