HVSI funding round closing soon

Time is dwindling to apply for the 10th round of the NHVR’s Heavy Vehicle Safety Initiative grant, with applications closing in the next three weeks.

The HVSI is dedicated to transport industry safety projects aimed to make life on the road safer for drivers, operators and all those involved within trucking.

In November last year, the regulator announced that $4.2 million was allocated to the 10th round, addressing three themes – safer drivers, safer vehicles or safer road use.

“I am pleased the NHVR can continue to support innovative safety projects through the HVSI, that are helping to reduce road trauma and ultimately, save lives,” former NHVR CEO Sal Petroccitto OAM said.

“Through the past nine rounds of the HVSI, we have been able to support implementable, value-for-money projects that deliver tangible improvements to heavy vehicle safety.

“This is an opportunity for all groups and individuals involved in the heavy vehicle industry or across the wider supply chain that have a project, program, or campaign that will increase compliance and promote safety on our roads, to apply for this game-changing grants program.

“I am looking forward to seeing what round 10 brings, so we can continue to deliver improved safety outcomes not only for the heavy vehicle industry, but for all road users.”

Grants will close on February 17 at 5pm AEST. You can still apply here.
