Bruce Rock Engineering (BRE) is setting the benchmark for refrigerated transport with its Cold Core EcoNex series.
As the exclusive Australian distributor of Wabash National trailers, BRE continues to deliver advanced solutions tailored to the demanding conditions of Australian road transport logistics.
The Cold Core EcoNex series utilises Wabash’s innovative Cold Core Moulded Structural Composite (MSC) van panel technology which BRE has been assembling onto locally manufactured full-length chassis at its Western Australian facilities since 2019.
Designed for maximum thermal efficiency and reduced tare weight, the new and improved EcoNex product builds on the already established series and is engineered to enhance operational performance and sustainability.
“The thermal performance and reduced tare weight of the EcoNex trailers are standout features,” said BRE Managing Director, Damion Verhoogt.
“These trailers provide significant benefits, including a lower carbon footprint, fewer reefer hours and more payload capacity – all vital for today’s transport sector.”
The series includes two primary models – the Acutherm Refrigerated Freight Body and the Acutherm Refrigerated Van, both designed to deliver up to 30 per cent more thermal efficiency and 15 per cent lighter than conventional reefers.
These models also feature a seamless exterior for smooth decaling, a durable stainless-steel rear frame and a food-grade interior liner for optimal hygiene.
Recent enhancements to the EcoNex range include more ergonomic door seals for improved operator comfort, a tougher internal scuff package for added durability and optional polished base rail extrusions for a premium finish.
BRE has ensured that every detail meets the needs of operators working in some of the harshest conditions, including mid-summer temperatures exceeding 50°C.
With stock models ready to hit the road, the latest Cold Core EcoNex trailers are available to suit a variety of fleet requirements.
“These updated trailers showcase all the improvements we’ve made over the original series,” Verhoogt said.
“They remain our flagship refrigerated offering, delivering exceptional reliability and performance.”
BRE’s Cold Core EcoNex series continues to set a new standard in efficiency, innovation, and sustainability for refrigerated transport.
