Based at Armidale in NSW, Ben Robinson had travelled far and wide in his Isuzu 550 when Big Rigs saw him.
He’d fuelled up at the Calcium Puma Roadhouse between Townsville and Charters Towers at around 9.30am that morning.
With Ben when they got a bite to eat inside the roadhouse was his wife Sarah and their children Tilly and baby River, aged six months old.
“We have been as far away as WA and have carried horses, cattle, dogs, and other things. It is a good truck,” he said.
Before I saw them, Ben had been in Townsville helping to load the livestock boat from the port with live exports for Indonesia.
Ben’s company is B & S Robinson Rural Contracting and he travels anywhere.
His wife and children were travelling behind him in a support vehicle.
The couple has also done a lot of stock work such as droving, cattle and sheep work, fencing, yard building, welding, farrier jobs and shed building.
They were a very friendly family and enjoying their life.
