Truckies are advised of changed traffic conditions in Coffs Harbour this week as work continues on the city’s new bypass.
Transport for NSW (TfNSW) said work will be carried out at the following times and locations:
Korora area
There will be traffic control and short intermittent delays on Old Coast Road for construction heavy vehicles delivering materials for the new bridge over Pine Brush Creek. This work will be carried out from 7am to 6pm weekdays and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays.
Traffic control will be in place with short intermittent delays at the intersection of the Pacific Highway, Korora School Road and Russ Hammond Close for construction heavy vehicles delivering materials for the new Luke Bowen pedestrian bridge. This work will be 7am to 6pm weekdays and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays.
TfNSW said it will continue to have traffic control for heavy vehicle movements on and across:
Bruxner Park Road
West Korora Road.
Mackays Road area
There will be up to 40 truck movements a day to haul material from Shephards Lane, west of Pearce Drive, to Mackays Road via Don Patterson Drive, which is an approved heavy vehicle route for the project. This work will be 7am to 6pm weekdays and 8am to 1pm on Saturday.
Traffic control will continue for heavy vehicle movements on and across Mackays Road.
Shephards Lane area
A new temporary diversion road for Shephards Lane traffic has opened. This diversion is in place to allow the project to build a new bridge, which will provide local access over the new bypass.
There will be up to 40 truck movements a day to haul material from Shephards Lane to Mackays Road via Don Patterson Drive. This work will be 7am to 6pm weekdays and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays.
TfNSW will continue to have traffic control for heavy vehicle movements on and across Shephards Lane between Pearce Drive and North Coast Railway line.
Coramba Road area
There will be intermittent shoulder closures on Bennetts Road from Monday to Saturday to complete a new access road and install fencing. This work will be 7am to 6pm weekdays and 8am to 1pm on Saturday.
TfNSW will continue to have traffic control for heavy vehicle movements on and across Coramba Road.
Boambee and North Boambee area
Super T girders will be delivered and installed at the bridge over Newports Creek tributary from Wednesday to Friday.
The girders will be delivered from Macksville on oversize and/or overmass trucks under a pilot escort via the Pacific Highway and North Boambee Road. These deliveries will be made 7am to 6pm weekdays and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays. The trucks will only use North Boambee Road outside of school pick up and drop off times.
A reminder that the speed limit on the Pacific Highway southbound carriageway between Englands Road/Stadium Drive and the Sawtell Interchange has been reduced to 60km/h for the safety of motorists and construction workers. This will be a temporary long-term speed limit reduction until at least 2026.
