MaxiTRANS announces name change amid major transformation

Trailer manufacturer MaxiTRANS has announced it is changing its name to Freighter Group following the dissolution of its partnership with truck and trailer parts company MaxiPARTS.

The announcement was made at a showcase event at the company’s Ballarat facility yesterday evening, attended by customers, suppliers and industry representatives.

Greg L’Estrange, executive chairman of Freighter Group, said the decision to rebrand was an easy one.

“Our current name was too close to MaxiPARTS,” he explained.

“We’ve completely transformed this business, and in keeping with that, a new name is necessary.

“The Freighter Group name not only connects our rich heritage, but importantly it connects with our vision of ‘Freight it for Life’, which is our total commitment to supporting our customers for the life of our product.

“We are excited to take the business forward under the Freighter name and continue to deliver product solutions through our wide range of industry leading brands.”

Freighter Group is now offering spare parts for all of its OEM products manufactured under the Freighter Group name, and it will soon be introducing a new spare parts brand to the market, Hitcher Parts.

“Hitcher Parts will consist of an expansive range of quality trailer parts that are designed to go the distance,” said L’Estrange.

“The Hitcher Parts range continues to expand and will soon be available on our product, as well as in the aftermarket.”

Freighter Group has also developed a new ‘Ready Range’ of trailers, a pre-engineered product that aims to streamline orders.

“With almost 80 years of experience designing and manufacturing trailers for the Australian market, we have developed a Ready Range solution across our expansive product offering that consists of specifications suited for a wide array of applications.

“This allows our product to be more competitively priced, further streamline the order process and deliver shorter manufacturing lead times.”

Also unveiled as part of yesterday’s announcements was a new refrigerated trailer offering under the Freighter brand, Freez-R.

Freez-R was created in collaboration with partners Schmitz Cargobull and is capable of achieving minus 30 degrees Celsius, ideal for transporting frozen goods and other temperature sensitive freight.

It is Freighter Group’s first trailer offering to come with TrailerConnect telematics as standard.

“We are thrilled to announce the release of Freez-R to the Australian market,” said L’Estrange.

“Through our partnership with Schmitz Cargobull, collaboration with customers and our industry experience, we have been able to design and create a product with the exacting needs of the Australian market.”
