MLG announces winner of its inaugural Apprentice of the Year Award

MLG has named Anthony Babic, who works at the company’s Kalgoorlie Workshop, as its Apprentice of the Year for 2024.

As part of his win, he’ll receive a personalised recognition plaque, $250 in tool vouchers and the opportunity to attend the WesTrac Applied Failure Analysis course in Perth, valued at $5000, with flights and accommodation included.

His win was celebrated at a special dinner with MLG founder and managing director Murray Leahy, along with other members of staff, his supervisors and apprentice colleagues.

“This is a well-deserved recognition of his hard work and dedication,” the company said. “We wish Anthony all the best as he takes the next exciting steps in his career!”

Two runners up were also announced: Flynn Sauer from MLG’s Edna May site and Zane Argent from the St. Ives site.

Nominations for the new award came from workshop managers at each of MLG’s sites.
