New ALRTA Executive Committee

After holding its Annual General Meeting in Tasmania last week, the Australian Livestock and Rural Transporters Association has announced the appointment of its new ALRTA Executive Committee.

Current LRTAQ President Gerard Johnson will lead the ALRTA as its National President for the upcoming term.

He will be supported by Vice Presidents Wade Lewis (LBRCA) and David Fyfe (LRTAWA), Treasurer Anthony Boyle (LRTAV), and Secretary Tamara McArdle (LRTASA).

Athol Carter from the LRTAQ will represent the ALRTA at the Australian Trucking Association, while outgoing president Scott McDonald will stay involved in the executive as the the immediate past president.

“We would like to thank Scott McDonald for his five years of dedicated leadership. His guidance has made a significant impact on both ALRTA and the rural transport industry,” the ALRTA said in its weekly newsletter.

“We also acknowledge the contributions of outgoing committee members Frank Tedesco, Alan McKenzie, Lyndon Jay, and Kevin Keenan.

“We are looking forward to working with the new Executive team. Together, we will continue to focus on advancing policies and programs that highlight the vital role rural transport plays in Australia’s economy, contributing $5 billion annually to regional and rural communities.

“We look forward to a productive year and are confident that our new leadership will help drive the industry forward.”
