Work is continuing on the new oversize overmass (OSOM) and heavy vehicle rest area on the northbound section of the Hume Motorway in Menangle.
The new rest area is located opposite the Partridge VC Rest Area and will replace the closed informal ‘Dust Bowl’ parking area.
Work will be carried out in up to 25-night shifts that started on November 12 and are expected to continue Sunday December 21, weather permitting. Work will take place between 8pm to 4am, Sunday to Thursday.
A three-kilometre contraflow will be in place to enable the closure of one lane each night with traffic control managing traffic in both directions.
The Moolgun Creek OSOM Stopping Area will remain open during this time for OSOM drivers.
