Following an extensive global search, Pacific National has today announced the appointment of its incoming CEO.
It has been revealed that Brett Grehan will succeed Paul Scurrah who announced his resignation from the company earlier this year.
Grehan has a wealth of experience in the logistics and supply chain industry, most recently serving as CEO of Linx Cargo Care Group (formerly part of the Asciano Group).
“Brett’s leadership, experiences, and vision are aligned to Pacific National’s values and approach and he is very well positioned to lead Pacific National to continue to deliver for our people, customers and shareholders,” said Pacific National Independent Chair, Catherine Livingstone.
“As CEO of Linx Cargo Care Group he successfully drove operational improvements, strengthened safety initiatives, and focused on customer-centred innovation to deliver significant transformation, with a large workforce spread across Australia and New Zealand.”
Prior to his tenure at Linx Cargo Care Group, Brett served as a Senior Partner at McKinsey.
Livingstone said that during his career, he has built a reputation for his extensive work in the freight rail sector and other industries with complex logistics networks.
“Brett brings specific experience in strategic, commercial and operational improvement, including fostering strong partnerships with stakeholders across the industry,” she said.
“His experience will be instrumental as Pacific National continues to build on its position as a leader in the freight and logistics industry.”
Grehan will officially commence in the role as CEO on Monday 11 November.
Following a comprehensive handover process, Livingstone said Scurrah will continue to be available to Grehan and the Board in a transition capacity.
“On behalf of the Board, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to Paul for his leadership and dedication over the past four years and wish him well for the next stage in his career,” she said.
“Under Paul’s guidance our business has evolved strongly, and he should be particularly proud of ushering in the ‘Pacific National Approach’ and values, as well as his commitment to customer service and safety as a top priority.”
Grehan expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to become Pacific National’s next CEO.
“Pacific National is a critical contributor to the Australian economy,” he said.
“It is a privilege to join the team and to have the opportunity to contribute to decarbonising the Australian supply chain, to safely delivering for our customers, and to support the broader Australian communities in which we operate.”
