Performance, reliability and fuel efficiency make for the perfect package

Launched nearly two years ago, the new MAN truck generation range has been making waves on Australian shores – and there’s never been a better time to buy.

Head of MAN Truck & Bus at Penske Australia, Derek Schroff, says the MANumental campaign, which ends on July 31, 2024, is the brand’s biggest promotion to date.

Offered on a range of models, MANumental includes upfront factory rebates, industry-leading driveline warranties, entire vehicle warranties, and discounted contract maintenance packages.

A great incentive to buy now is the five-year/one-million-kilometre driveline warranty and $15,000 upfront factory rebate on selected trucks.

“The driveline warranty covers all driveline components, not just the engine, as is the case with some competitors. And there are no mid-life component replacement requirements either,” said Schroff.

“Further to the great feedback we’ve been receiving on the performance, reliability and fuel efficiency of the new MAN truck generation range – and the confidence we have in the product – this truly is an unbeatable deal,” said Schroff.

The promotion is targeted at two 6×4 models in the range, the TGX and TGS, available with various engine ranges.

Since the range was first released, Schroff says it has been going exceptionally well.

“We’ve had a lot of new and existing customers purchase the TGX and TGS models. The biggest testament we have is the number of repeat customers.

As Schroff explained, “There are Australian customers who have been purchasing MAN trucks for decades. For example, J&P Richards – which runs road trains from Brisbane, out west through the likes of Miles and Chinchilla – purchased its first MAN over 40 years ago and is still purchasing them. They’ve been a long-time supporter of the MAN brand.”

German designed and engineered, MAN builds its trucks tough. “What makes MAN so well suited to the Australian environment is the toughness and durability of the product,” added Schroff.

“Everything is made using quality components, starting with the high tensile steel chassis through to the steel-reinforced cabin. The MAN range handles any of the higher GCM and tougher roads you experience here in Australia.”

For added ruggedness, MAN has several additional features uniquely engineered for the Australian environment such as a raised cab for better air flow and dual fuel tanks to suit the longer distances that are common down under.

Other main features typical of any MAN truck are the quality of the fit and finish, proven ride quality, ergonomics in the cab, aerodynamics for greater fuel efficiency and the latest engines on the market.

As one of the oldest companies in the world – MAN was established over 250 years ago – the brand knows engines and it knows them well. MAN developed the first ever diesel engine in 1893. This was followed 100 years ago in 1924 with the first direct injection diesel engine for a truck.

Along with the MANumental campaign making now a great time to buy, Schroff says supply chains have also stabilised, bringing lead times back to pre-Covid levels.

“For all OEMs, the supply chain has been a challenge in recent years. As it’s stabilised, we’ve been getting more supply to market at our regular volumes.

“We are now starting to see some real momentum with the MAN range in Australia. We’re on our way to having a record year for sales in 2024, and already have a great start for orders in 2025.

“The only way for customers to understand what MAN is and what it’s all about is to experience one for yourself – you’ll be very impressed.”
