Well over a 1000 DAF units have been ordered by a Spanish transport company.
An order of 1,300 DAF XF 480 Super Space Cabs by Primafrio Group will be delivered on a schedule that will run to the end of 2023 with the first batch of 400 trucks already in operation on the company’s supply chain routes throughout Europe.
The company already operates 900 DAF trucks in its growing fleet of commercial vehicles.
Based out of Murcia, the company was founded in 1963 and has become a leading freight transporter with subsidiaries in Andalusia, Catalonia, Basque Country and Lisbon in addition to facilities also in France and Germany.
Its modern state-of-the-art conditioned warehouses provide customers with a wide range of added value logistic services.
The new facilities in Murcia, a university city in the southeast of Spain, are equipped with the latest information and communication systems, garages, a petrol station with 32 petrol pumps, a laundry, rest areas for drivers, a restaurant, a playroom and a canteen.
As part of its 300,000 sqm surface area there is 15,000 sqm for a cross-docking warehouse as well as 106 loading and unloading docks.
“In 2016 the first agreement was made for delivery of 1,000 DAF trucks to Primafrio Group, of which the first 300 vehicles were taken into operation the year after. Daily practice has shown that these vehicles set the benchmark in reliability, fuel efficiency and driver comfort”, said José Esteban Conesa, Primafrio CEO.
“This new order is part of our fleet renewal plan which will allow us to have vehicles featuring the latest available advanced technologies,” he said.
The new order, according to Conesa, has reinforced an already excellent, professional relationship with DAF.
“Through the 1,300 DAF XF 480 Super Space Cab trucks we can further improve the profitability and efficiency on our routes. In addition, the Co2 footprint of the Primafrio Group fleet will be reduced with the highly efficient XF tractors. The DAF XF fits our business philosophy: it is a very reliable truck that guarantees on-time deliveries as well as safety and excellent comfort for our drivers,” he said.
Richard Zink, Member of the Board of Management at DAF Trucks said the fact that leading transport operators like Primafrio Group were opting for the DAF XF based on their own long-term experience, gave recognition to the trucks’ reliability, efficiency and driver comfort.
“In addition, this order underlines the positive sentiment of the market: the demand for transport is on its way back. We are very happy that we can support the transport industry with high quality trucks,” Zink said.
