The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) is asking heavy vehicle operators to limit travel into Ingham over the next 24 to 48 hours, where possible, to help ease pressure on the local community.
“With various closures in the immediate and surrounding areas, an increase in heavy vehicles has led to congestion, with trucks parked in the main street, escalating the strain on local resources,” TMR said this afternoon in a statement.
“If travel is essential, please plan ahead, use designated rest areas, and consider the impact on the community.”
TMR is also urging heavy vehicle operators to continuously check the QLDTraffic website or call 13 19 40 for real-time updates on road access during these conditions.
