Queensland-based food distributor, Rum City Foods, has expanded into Central Queensland following its acquisition of Growers Own.
The acquisition brings together two experienced teams with a shared commitment to quality, service excellence and fresh produce.
Established in 1990, Growers Own has built a strong reputation as a trusted fresh produce supplier throughout the Rockhampton region.
Similarly, Rum City Foods, established in 1978, has grown considerably as a family-owned and operated business specialising in fresh and frozen logistics.
Rum City Foods said the acquisition bolsters its presence in Rockhampton.
“This expansion enhances our fresh fruit and vegetable division in Central Queensland while providing customers access to our complete foodservice offering, delivering a streamlined, one-supplier solution,” Rum City Foods said.
“We look forward to continuing to service the Rockhampton region Monday to Friday and building on the strong foundations already established.
“We are excited about this next stage of growth and the opportunities it creates for our customers, suppliers and team.”
As part of the acquisition, the existing Growers Own team will remain intact.
Rum City Foods said this will ensure customers receive the “same reliable service” they have known, yet now strengthened by the broader resources and expanded capabilities of Rum City Foods.
