Sinotruk International has issued a recall for three Sitrak models, manufactured between 2020-2025, due to an issue with the Electronic Stability Control system.
The recall is for the C7H 6×4 (2020-2025), G7S 6X4 (2023-2025) and C9 models (2024-2025), with 471 trucks impacted by the recall.
According to the recall notice, “Due to a software issue, the Electronic Stability Control – ESC – system may not re-activate when the vehicle exceeds 40 Km/h after the driver has manually switched off the ESC function. If this occurs, affected vehicles do not comply with Australian Design Rule (ADR) 35/07 – Commercial Vehicle Brake Systems.
“A loss of safety systems such as ESC under special scenarios could increase the risk of an accident and cause serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.”
Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by SITRAK and asked to arrange with their nearest authorised SITRAK dealer to have their vehicle inspected and the work carried out, free of charge.
