Superload completes four-day journey

A 477-tonne Oversize Overmass (OSOM) superload has travelled from Glen Waverley, Victoria, to Newcastle, New South Wales.

The journey began on 4 May from Wilson Transformer Company with five prime movers and four National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) pilot and escort vehicles accompanying the load on its journey.

Heavy haulage specialists, Overdimensional Lift & Shift, completed the move over a four-day period.

The superload was 125 metres long and 5.8 metres wide.

“The NHVR would like to remind drivers who come across an escort vehicle, with an OSOM load approaching them, to slow down, do not overtake and prepare to stop if required, remain calm and divert as far to the left as possible,” the NHVR told Trailer.

In other news, Centurion has partnered with Healthy Heads in Trucks & Sheds.

Last year, New South Wales saw one of the largest superload movements in the state’s history.
