Transport decision makers to attend VTA State Conference 2023

Government representatives, regulators and experts from the transport industry will be addressing the issues of skills and training at the VTA State Conference 2023.

State Conference 2023 is the VTA’s most important professional development and networking event, and is a fixture on its annual networking calendar.

The event will be held at Silverwater Resort, Phillip Island from Sunday 19 March to Tuesday 21 March.

In the context of labour and driver shortages in the freight industry, Logical Staffing Solutions CEO, Russell Hutchinson, will kick off the discussion by presenting a range of views and answering questions.

Freight Victoria Senior Executives Antoinette Batista and Jess Murdoch will also be attending the Conference who, along with the VTA’s Tim Garnett, will outline how joint Victorian Government and VTA programs are actively working to attract people to the transport industry.

The VTA specifically developed the Women in Transport Strategy and Freight Industry Jobseekers Project with the Victorian Government to attract people that aren’t typically associated with the freight industry.

Armstrong’s CEO, Craig Nicholson, will join Batista, Murdoch and Garnett to outline the success of the programs to date.

Victoria Labour Hire Licensing Commissioner, Steve Dargavel, is also joining the Conference line-up to outline the Labour Hire Authority’s implementation of the Labour Hire Licensing Act 2018.

Information on the Conference packages and price points the VTA is offering can be viewed here.

Participants interested can register online here.

In other news, Western Australia Senator Glenn Sterle and Victoria Senator Bridget McKenzie will be attending and addressing delegates at VTA State Conference 2023.
