Transurban issues update on CityLink/Monash Freeway

Truckies have been informed that all lanes inbound and the Batman Avenue outbound heavy freight route of the CityLink/Monash Freeway are now operating as usual.

Temporary changes were made to how trucks over 44 tonnes used the freeway between Batman Avenue and Punt Road, to facilitate emergency repair works due to a police incident which caused damage to CityLink.

The changes were announced by the NHVR last week, without an ETA for when the repairs would be complete.

However Transurban has now informed Big Rigs that conditions are back to normal.

“We thank heavy vehicle users for their patience last week while Transurban and Department of Transport and Planning worked together implementing changed traffic conditions, following a police incident,” a spokesperson said.

Transurban also warned truckies that they will need to undertake planned works in the Batman Avenue/Punt Road later in April.

“These works will be communicated to Linkt customers and our valued stakeholders via usual channels,” the spokesperson continued.

“Drivers can stay up to date with planned road works and closures for CityLink on the Linkt website.”
