Truck Deliveries in Spades

Transport operators have been taking truck deliveries in spades this week across the country, adding to their fleets.

Deniliquin Freighters welcomes five new Mercs

Regional transport operator Deniliquin Freighters has taken on the delivery of five new Mercedes-Benz Actros trucks from Daimler Trucks Shepparton. It’s the largest delivery yet for the newly opened dealership.

Deniliquin Freighters has been a long-term Daimler Truck customers, operating both Freightliner Cascadia and Mercedes-Benz Actros trucks as part of its fleet.

It has taken delivery of five 2663 Actros models which operate an efficient 630hp 16-litre engine teamed with a 12-speed fully-automated manual transmission, and managing director Russell Tait says they’ve been performing strongly so far.

“We’ve been really happy with them. The fuel economy has been good, the safety is always welcome and the drivers appreciate the comfort,” Russell says.

“The trucks are one thing, but the team behind them, the support you get once the trucks have been delivered that is just so important. Dave will answer his phone whenever you call, whether it is in the middle of the night or the middle of the day and make sure any potential issue is sorted out and that is something we really appreciate.”

New Iveco for Napoli’s Transport

Rocky Napoli’s formed Napoli’s Transport after he moved into refrigerated transport from driving in quarries. He relies on his fleet of Iveco S-Ways to get the job done, recently taking on a new model.

Rocky has operated a number of Iveco units, starting with a Eurotech before moving onto Stralis models, the most recent of which was retired with over 1.1 million kilometres on the odometer.

“I’ve used Iveco trucks over many years and have always gone back to the brand – the trucks have always been reliable and performed well for my business,” he explains.

“The S-Way is lovely to drive and although it replaces a Stralis which had an extra 40hp, we’re not wanting for power – you can’t tell that on paper that it’s a few horsepower down on the previous one.

“The fuel economy has also been very impressive; that seems to be a trait of Iveco models, mine have always been good and the reliability is there – in this line of business breakdowns are costly.”
