Truck driver injured on Bruce Highway as concrete thrown at windscreen

A truck driver has sustained minor injuries after a piece of concrete was thrown at his windscreen, while travelling along the Bruce Highway, north of Townsville.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday morning (January 14), as the driver was travelling through an overpass at Saunders Creek at around 12.50am.

The driver sustained cuts to his face and eye and has been treated at the Townsville Hospital.

Police are investigating the incident, as the search for the culprit continues.

Queensland Police revealed it has conducted extensive patrols of the surrounding area but has not been able to locate any suspects.
