A truckie who has launched his own small business selling trucking merchandise has teamed up with Nolan’s Interstate Transport on a special project for a good cause.
Jimmy Cresshull from Adelaide is a driver for Neil Mansell Transport, but in his spare time he sells t-shirts, caps and other merch celebrating iconic transport companies.
He told Big Rigs: “My dad used to work out in the northern suburbs of Adelaide and I would ride my push bike around and see trucks from companies like Gilberts and Collins and Clevelands.
“Gilberts and Clevelands are gone now and I realised I wanted to capture that trucking history.
“I thought it would be cool to have something people could wear, and maybe it would strike up a conversation.”
Cresshull’s newest line of merch is in partnership with Nolan’s Interstate Transport, and features their new purple Kenworth T610SAR.
The striking rig spreads the word about the Icon Cancer Foundation and the importance of its cancer research.
The cause is particularly special to the Nolan family as Icon played an important role in patriarch Terry Nolan’s brave fight with renal cell carcinoma (a form of kidney cancer) before losing his battle in 2014 – and now the ongoing challenge his son Darren faces with the same disease.
The new merch will be on sale at Lights on the Hill this weekend, and afterwards on the truckinrepublic website.
For every item sold, $5 will go to the Icon Cancer Foundation.
