VVG announces new appointment

Velocity Vehicle Group (VVG) has announced the promotion of Richard Higgins to the position of President of its Velocity Truck Centres Unit.

In this role, Higgins will continue to be responsible for managing the operations across 17 Velocity Truck Centres across Australia, overseeing its overall strategy.

Since first joining VVG in 2021, Higgins has served as the executive vice president. During that time, he has driven a number of important improvements, including completing the integration of the acquisition from Eagers Automotive, bringing consistent policies and processes across the locations, implementing a new business management system, completing additional acquisitions in Huntingwood, NSW, and Broome, WA, and building a management team to continue to raise the level of service provided by Velocity Truck Centres (VTC) for the future.

Co-presidents of VVG, Brad Fauvre and Conan Barker added, “Richard has done a terrific job in leading a very complicated change process while servicing our customers based on our mission of speed, value, and trust. We are encouraged at the prospect of continuing to realize more improvements within our Australia operations under his leadership. We have a long way to go to sell more vehicles and raise our level of customer service and we are confident that we are on the right track to get there.”

VTC’s Australian network sells and services commercial vehicles and exclusively represents Daimler Trucks brands Mercedes-Benz, Freightliner and Fuso, as well as Mercedes Benz vans.

VVG also operates 65 commercial vehicle dealership locations in the US across California, Arizona, Nevada, Tennessee, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama and Hawaii. The company also operates eight locations in Baja California, Mexico.

VVG provides new and used commercial vehicle sales, including the full spectrum from pickup trucks and delivery vans to 18-wheelers and school buses, as well as aftermarket parts and service support, along with a multitude of other vehicle-related services.

VVG also offers equipment financing through its Crossroads Equipment Lease and Finance subsidiary, as well as small business and SBA loans through Velocity SBA and truck rental and leasing through Velocity Truck Rental and Leasing.
