Weekend closures planned for Pacific Motorway

Detours will be in place this weekend and the last weekend in June at Pimpama (Exit 49) on the Pacific Motorway.

The western (Rifle Range Road) side of the interchange will be closed between Friday May 31 and Monday June 3, and again between Friday June 28 and Monday July 1.

There will be no access to the northbound on-ramp and northbound off-ramp, nor to the western roundabout area.

Motorists will also not be able to access the M1 overpass bridge (with no east/west connectivity) or Rifle Range Road, between Bull Road and Waverley Drive.

Drivers should follow alternative detour signage route via the local road network.

Alternate routes and M1 exits:

Access for Heavy Vehicles via Yatala (Exit 38).
Access areas on the western side of the interchange via Coomera (Exit 54), Rifle Range Road and the local road network.
Access the eastern side of the interchange from the western side via Rifle Range Road heading south to Coomera (Exit 54) and the M1 northbound to Ormeau (Exit 45) and the M1 southbound to Pimpama (Exit 49) off-ramp.
There will be no access along Rifle Range Road between Bull Road and Waverley Drive. Motorists should seek an alternative route via the local road network.

All roads on the eastern (Yawalpah Road) side of the interchange will remain open during the western side closure.

TMR Queensland said: “We are continuously monitoring, assessing and reviewing our roads, bridges and culverts across Queensland.

“Conditions can change quickly, particularly due to weather. Restrictions are implemented to maintain ongoing safety for all road users.

“It is your responsibility to make sure you’re using up-to-date information when you assess the suitability of your route.”
