Trucking Australia 2024 is fast approaching, offering a chance to hear from trucking industry practitioners, government agencies and regulatory bodies and have your say on the biggest problems facing the road transport sector today.

Taking place at the National Convention Centre in Canberra from April 17-19 and organised by the Australian Trucking Association, attendees can also look forward to the National Trucking Industry Awards, plus a Kenworth Legends lunch, Daimler Truck Local Showcase dinner, and ATA Foundation Sponsors Gala awards dinner.

At the awards dinner, the winners of the National Trucking Industry Awards will be announced.

The categories include: Outstanding Contribution to the Trucking Industry, National Trucking Industry Woman of the Year, National Professional Driver of the Year, National Training Excellence Award, the Don Watson Memorial Award, and the TruckSafe John Kelly Memorial Award.

Meanwhile the Daimler Truck Asia Pacific showcase will feature a variety of state-of-the-art Daimler trucks, a chance to experience local Canberra food, beverage and other offerings as well as a live auction by leading auctioneer, Ritchie Bros.

Other highlights from the program include panels on Better Road Access and Driver Licensing, The Future of Truck Charging, Building Our Workforce Through Inclusion, and Using AI and Data to Transform Safety.

The Chair of Transport Women Australia Limited, Jacquelene Brotherton, and mechanical engineer Rachel Michaud will discuss empowering women in trucking.

Sal Petroccitto will also reflect on 10 years at the helm of the NHVR and share his plans for the future, in conversation with Mathew Munro, CEO of the ATA.
