Truckies can expect delays at the Ollera Creek Bridge on the Bruce Highway as work continues to reinforce the approach embankment.
Once completed, the bridge will return to a 100 km/h speed limit and works will shift downstream of Abutment B to prevent further scouring, and single-lane contra-flow will continue for 3-5 weeks.
Ollera Creek Bridge traffic conditions
6am to 6pm (construction hours):
Single-lane contra-flow with a 40 km/h speed limit.
6pm to 6am (outside construction hours):
Dual-lane open with a 60 km/h speed limit.
In an advisory note to industry today, the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) said it continues to monitor critical damage sites and prioritise repairs on the Bruce Highway between Home Hill and Cardwell Range.
Lane closures, restrictions, and speed limits remain in place to ensure safety until full reconstruction is completed.
Woodstock–Giru Road
Currently Woodstock–Giru Road is open, but speed restrictions are in place at Walkers Creek due to flood damage.
Emergency works will be conducted on both approaches to Walkers Creek Bridge on Sunday, March 9. Temporary full closure of the bridge will occur during the hours of 6am and 2pm, to allow for necessary repairs in the coming weeks, said TMR.
