XL Express names new COO

Logistics and freight specialist, XL Express has appointed a new executive to its team.

Wayne Thompson this week was announced as the company’s Chief Operating Officer.

An industry veteran with two decades of experience, Thompson previously worked as the COO of Bluestar Global Logistics.

Prior to that role he was the General Manager at Mannheim where he was responsible for the Passenger and Commercial, Salvage and Truck and Machinery Operations and Sales Management.

He has also held senior roles at SKF Australia and Repco.

The privately-owned Brisbane-based XL Express offers national distribution and has established a name since its founding in 1990 through a strategic focus on delivering break-bulk road express services.
